Sri Sri Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja
Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji of Sitanagaram

His Holiness Sri Sri Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji was born in 1956. He was initiated into sannyasa by His Holiness Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji in 1979, when Sri Chinna Jeeyar was in his 23rd year .

Sri Sri Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji was an Mahapurusa. Born in 1909 AD, he took to Sanyasa Asrama in 1954 as Jeeyar at Vanamamalai in the presence of the presiding deity. Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami performed vijaya yatras all over India to preach and propagate the Visishtadvaita Philosophy of Sri Ramanujacharya.

Pedda Jeeyar attained moksha on 31st December, 1979, leaving the responsibility of carrying on his work to Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji. Sri Swamiji became the head and Acharya of Srimad Ubhaya Vedanta Acharya Peetham at Nadigaddapalem in 1981. Since then, Sri Swamiji has developed the spiritual activities in manifold ways.

His Holiness Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji performed 108 Rama Yajnas across India and Nepal over 9 years to propagate Rama Nama; he also took a sankalpa to perform 108 Swadhyaya Jnana Yajnas. Out of these, 105 Yajnas were completed by His Holiness Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji and 3 Yajnas remained unperformed. Immediately after entering sannyasa, Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji undertook to accomplish the cherished task of Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy. The final Yajna was performed in February 1980 at Sri Thirumala Kshetra with 1008 Kundas. The Yajna lasted 7 days.

Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyar established Vidyacharya Peetha and Veda Vedanga Pathasala at Nadigaddapalem. He also wanted to establish a Vedic University; his wishes were fulfilled when Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji started the Vedic University in 1983.

Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji has revived, on a very large scale,  the tradition of holding Pushkaras every 12 years on every one of the holy rivers of India. With his divine blessings, great Pushkaras have been held on the Krishna in 1980 and 1992, on Godavari in 1991 and 2003, on Kaveri in 1993, and on Tungabhadra in 1996. Lakhs of pilgrims and devotees participated in these Pushkaras; the proper conduct of rituals for these Pushkaras and the arrangements for provision of food, shelter and other amenities for the multitude of pilgrims were made possible through the blessings of Sri Swamiji and the large contingent of volunteers of Vikasatarangini, an organisation of youth initiated and blessed by Sri Swamiji.

Sri Swamiji has conducted several Virata Parayanams of Sri Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram; these Paryanams are grand occasions when lakhs of devotees gather together to collectively recite Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam led by Sri Jeeyar Swamiji himself. Such Parayanams have been held at Vijayawada in 1994, at Visakapatnam in 1995, at Madras in 1996, near Hyderabad in 1997, and at Guntur Vaishnavipuram in 1998.

Sri Swamiji started the Jeeyar Educational Trust in 1982 at Sithanagaram in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh. The Trust now has units in Hyderabad, Narayankund (Nepal), Rajahmundry, Chennai and in the United States of America.
