Food For All —

MESSAGES

Sri Tridandi Sri Srimannarayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji of Sri Sitanagaram

We are extremely happy to know about the follow-up programme of the sadas on “Annam Bahu Kurvita” that was held at Sri Tirumala.

In a country like ours, where agriculture is of primary importance, it is necessary for us to take care of all factors that affect agriculture. It is absolutely necessary to develop facilities that help cultivators obtain higher yields from our fertile lands, while taking care that the fertility of land is not exhausted. Agricultural lands should be safe-guarded from pollution, especially by industrial wastes.

We are blessed with numerous rivers, that originate in the mountains and pass through vast stretches of our land, thus forming the great fertile plains and valleys of our Bharatavarsha. We should put this fertile land and water to the best possible use.

The Centre for Policy Studies is doing a lot of study and research, focusing on the importance of food and agriculture in our country. We believe that the initiative taken by the Centre for Policy Studies will definitely inspire people in our capital city, and make them take up actions aimed at the welfare of the people. If proper steps are not taken now, the future generations shall not forgive us. We pray that the people in authority are blessed with the foresight, wisdom and strength necessary to take appropriate steps for solving this great problem that our nation is faced with.
